SUNDAY SERVICE AT SHADY CREEK

You will be greeted at the Church Entrance by a member of our congregation, who will shake your hand and answer any questions you might have. You will be given a Service Bulletin and when seated you will find a hymn book in front of you. The people generally visit quietly while preparing to worship.

Weekly announcements, coming events, and celebrations are recognized. Our Minister lights the Christ Candle while we gather our hearts and minds and remember why we are here. A Time to Touch the Word is geared to the youngsters in the congregation before they leave to go to Sunday School. We enjoy a meaningful sermon, scripture readings and an Anthem sung by our choir. Hymns are chosen to support the sermon of the day. An offering is taken and there are Prayers of the People, to which your requests for prayer will be included.

Following our service, refreshments are provided in the Church Hall where you will also enjoy conversation with members of our congregation.
Please join us soon.

Choir and Hymn Selection

Although the church records don't list all the musical instruments that have graced Shady Creek, they do provide some memorable details. Before having a keyboard, John L Brooks was remembered for leading the congregation in hymn singing with his fiddle. When the first organ was purchased in 1897 it was played by Mr. Brooks' sister.
